Family

Usually, my posts revolve around Wyatt and the happiness he brings to Lizzy and me on a daily basis. But this post is about family. That includes those friends who are willing to help us when we need it, whose kids are now and forever will be considered "cousins" and of course Wyatt's grandparents on both sides.

Often times I get so caught up in the daily grind, that I forget to stop and acknowledge what it means to have an extended family that is willing to help in any way they can. Whether it's dropping everything to watch Wyatt while Lizzy and I to fly to Miami for an unexpected emergency, or flying all the way out to TX to watch Wyatt as we take our first adult vacation since he was born, support like that cannot be underestimated.

And for that, I want to say THANK YOU. Thank you. Thank you. Not for watching him, but for loving him as much if not more than Lizzy and I do. Thank you for teaching him the importance of what it means to have a family. And thank you for being you. I cannot imagine doing this without each and every one of you.

So Nana, Doudie, Mimi and Abo, WE LOVE YOU! And we are grateful. Each and every day.

Wyatt and his smarts

I have been getting a lot of compliments from friends lately in regards to reading this blog and how much they have enjoyed the updates about Wyatt. So I am taking it upon myself to become more active again. I want to blame the large gap between posts on life and the every day distractions that come with it. But I can't. Or better said, I won't.

I blame it on trying to enjoy every possible moment I have with Wyatt and on trying to give him the attention he deserves. I get so sucked in as he surprises Lizzy and I with a new word or way of communicating what he wants almost daily. It amazes me the rhythm he shows toward music. He loves to sing Row Row Row Your Boat and Old McDonald and can can finish both songs now.

Man...I love being a dad.
